Working as a trained design professional for over ten years, I have experience in design, project management and construction management for a wide range of building projects. I focus on custom residential and retail design and have completed projects throughout the United States including New York City, San Francisco, Napa, Portland and Santa Fe. I hold Masters of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Design, both spatial and visual, shapes how we experience the every day. Each project presents the opportunity to create an experience wholly unique. I practice a sensitivity to the specific aspects of a project’s context to inform that experience. Environment, culture, rituals, aesthetics, history and other factors inform come in to play. And tending to Clients’ needs and desires is critical. I aim to sense what is there, listen carefully and design with informed intention and a wealth of inspiration.
Engaging in other design-related endeavors enriches my design approach as well. I have taught architectural design studios at Columbia University and currently serve as an online critic for the New York City College of Technology. I was the Santa Fe correspondent for untapped cities.com, writing about local architecture, culture, art and all things Santa Fe.
I have worked for highly regarded architecture firms such as Gensler in both their New York and San Francisco offices, NBBJ, and Pfau Architecture. I gained priceless insight into construction management during a tenure at esteemed Ryan Associates General Contractors. I experienced the intrigue and the challenge of the Hospitality Developer/Owner as the VP of Project Management for Canyon Equity, holder of exquisite boutique luxury resorts.
I am working currently as an independent designer and design consultant for hospitality and residential interiors.
Architectural design, interior design and project management are my expertise. I strive to cultivate quality relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and specialty artisans to achieve beautifully successful projects.
